Happy Halloween!

Who wants a Bootiful cupcake?  I made these at the lake the other weekend for Elyza's birthday, but I think I'm going to make some more tonight, and experiment with some new decorations.  Maybe put a candy spider on my web of frosting?  Kevin and Matt are throwing a Halloween party and since I am busy all day working on my first application (due Monday), he is "building" my costume.  I am not quite sure this is a good idea yet.  I will post pictures tomorrow.  Oh, and I will post pictures from Elyza's Bday this coming week.  We had a mahvelous time!

The Blue Ghost.

I finally put up pictures of Shaina's wedding weekend, and it seems that more than half of the pictures are of Amanda and I taking a photo shoot in front of the USS Lexington, aka. "The Blue Ghost".  A small sampling...

After Amanda and I tired ourselves out on our "runway", we went back to the hotel to meet Elyza, Tony and Laura and barely made it to the ceremony.  Seriously.  They closed the doors behind us.  Laura and Tony missed it.  :(  Lauren, you would have been stressed out.

The ceremony was simple but so genuine and beautiful.  Picture an ocean view at sunset, Shaina and Brahim so excited to reaffirm their vows, Shaina walking down the aisle to "I'm Kissing You" (you know, from "Romeo and Juliet" where Claire and Leo are kissing in the water?) playing on the piano...I definitely had tears in my eyes!  They got married under a Chuppah and also mixed in some Moroccan traditions with the exchange of almonds. :)

The reception took place in another room on the same floor of the building, with ocean views and gorgeous chandeliers!  Then the dancing began...

I think people thought we were drunk.  But we weren't.

Doesn't my hair look luscious?

I don't think I've ever danced that much at a wedding AND kept my heels on.  My poor feet.

Corpus to Arkansas.

I am a stress ball this week.  I am on a new project in Arkansas, my test is on Saturday (and I did not do well on my last practice test), it's that time of the month and I'm trying to deal with application stuff from a hotel room.  Deadlines are looming over my head.

I wanted to post all my pictures from this weekend, but alas, I will have to wait until Saturday after my test when I can justify spending an hour blogging.  This weekend one of my favorite people, Shaina (a former Sigma) got married to her fiancee of a few years, Brahim, in Corpus Christi, TX.  It was a very touching ceremony, considering they spent their two years of engagement dealing with the US and Moroccan governments, trying to get Brahim over to the states.  I will post more about it this weekend, but for now, here is a preview...

Tiffany Blue.

You see those gorgeous Amethyst studs in the photo above?  They were inside a blue Tiffany's box that Kevin gave me on the way to the symphony last night.  I've never gotten to open the infamous blue box before, with the white satin bow around it, and I've got to say it was quite exciting.  I had a smile on my face the whole night.  Now I know why he kept asking me what I was wearing that night.  They went perfectly with my dress!  I am a lucky girl. :)

Ode to Joy.

Kevin and I have a date tonight. :)  I bought him a season ticket package for the Houston Symphony for his birthday in April and our first tickets are for the program tonight at Jones Hall.  We will be listening to "the soaring melodies of Beethoven's last and most celebrated symphony", Symphony No. 9, as well as Haydn's Symphony No. 104.  I can't wait to get all gussied up to spend the evening with Beethoven and Kevin, especially since I haven't seen him since Sunday.  Perhaps afterwards we will stroll over to Sambuca for dessert and some live jazz...
